Jewel smiles at a fundraiser

Former folkie, now country music star Jewel pauses with a smile for photographers at the ninth annual Trevor New York summer gala. This was at the Capitale in New York City on June 29, 2009. We're not sure what "Trevor New York" is, but we suspect this was a gala to support the Trevor Project, a non-profit organization that aims to prevent suicide among LGBQT young people. It could also be for Trevor Day School, a private school in Manhattan, but this seems much less likely. (On further review, the star on the backdrop clearly indicates this is for the Trevor Project, which uses just such a logo.)
