Joan Allen in ‘Death Race’

Joan Allen (center) exchanges a look with Jason Statham (right) in the 2008 film Death Race. The film was a rollicking romcom in which Allen and Statham meet cute in traffic court and then open their own vegan dog biscuit cafe. Just kidding, of course! Death Race is really a dystopic thriller set in an uphappy future where prisons are run for profit and prisoners are forced to take part in deadly races in hopes of winning their freedom.
