Job’s Tormentors, by William Blake
This etching, titled "Job's Tormentors," was completed by the great artist William Blake in 1993. Job can be seen at right, presumably asking "Why me, God?", while the wife and friends who are supposed to be comforting him look on. (Spoiler: They do not comfort him.) This was one in a number of engravings by Blake on the topic of Job and his story, 22 of which were published by Blake in 1826 in a book titled Illustrations of the Book of Job.
