Maria Callas thrills some Democrats
President John F. Kennedy (left) chats with opera singer Maria Callas (second from right), United Nations Ambassador Adlai Stevenson (center), and two unidentified men at a birthday party for the President thrown by Arthur Krim at Krim's New York apartment. The date was May 19, 1962. Maria Callas was born in 1923, so she turned 39 that year -- clearly still retaining her drawing power.
