John Lennon and Paul McCartney, top and bottom

This photo of John Lennon (top) and Paul McCartney from 1965, by photographer David Bailey, was to be sold at auction in 2010. The estimated price before the sale was 15,000-20,000 British pounds. Lennon and McCartney were then at the early height of their fame from The Beatles, their band with George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Lennon and McCartney wrote most of the group's hit songs.
