John Wayne on a Vespa

Here's John Wayne on a Vespa scooter. The image is undated, but judging by the cap and the setting this may be around the time of The Quiet Man, the 1952 film that featured Wayne as a retired American boxer who returns to his native Ireland. John Wayne was born in 1907, so he turned 45 the year the film was released. In later years, Wayne settled into he-man alpha male mode and probably wouldn't have been caught dead being photographed with a sweet little scooter like this.
