A photo of Joseph Stalin taken sometime in 1943 or after. The photographer is unknown. Stalin was, at this time, both the General Secretary of the Central Committee and the head of the Soviet armed forces. He was the de facto dictator of the Soviet Union from roughly 1928 until his death in 1953.
