Facts about Kaitlyn Dever
Kaitlyn Dever Biography
Kaitlyn Dever is the actress who plays the tart-tongued tomboy teen Eve on the TV sitcom Last Man Standing. Kaitlyn Dever was born in Arizona but grew up in Texas. She enrolled in the Dallas Young Actors Studio at age 9. (Her family already had a showbiz connection: her father, Tim Dever, is one of several actors who has provided the voice of kiddie-show favorite Barney the Dinosaur.) Soon enough Kaitlyn landed a Hollywood agent and began doing TV commercials. Her first big film break was a supporting role as a lonely homeless girl in An American Girl: Chrissa Stands Strong (directed by Martha Coolidge!) in 2009. After guest spots on TV series including Modern Family (2009) and The Mentalist (2011), she landed a recurring role on the Kentucky hicks-and-lawman series Justified, playing dope-dealing orphan Loretta McCready opposite Timothy Olyphant in a dozen episodes from 2011-14. Also in 2011 she joined the cast of Tim Allen’s comedy Last Man Standing, with Allen as an outdoor-loving regular guy and Dever as the youngest of his three daughters. Brown-haired, round-faced and sassy, she became a fan favorite; Philly.com called her the show’s “little scene stealer.” Kaitlyn Dever’s film credits include Bad Teacher (2011, with Cameron Diaz), J. Edgar (2011, with Leonardo DiCaprio) and The Spectacular Now (2013, with Shailene Woodley).
