Loretta Swit in ‘M*A*S*H’

Loretta Swit (the only female, third from right) joins the rest of the late-era cast of the American TV sitcom M*A*S*H. (The acronym stood for "mobile army surgical hospital." In the show, this particular hospital was dubbed the 4077th.) The show, while filmed outside Los Angeles as seen here, was set in Korea during the Korean War. This cast (without Radar O'Reilly and other early characters) appeared in the show's final four seasons, from 1979-83. Loretta Swit played the chief nurse, 'Hot Lips' Houlihan.
