Marengo

The painting 'Napoleon Crossing the Alps' (also known as 'Napoleon at the St. Bernard Pass'), painted between 1801 and 1805 by the great French artist Jacques-Louis David. Napoleon is astride his famous gray horse, Marengo. The painting depicts the real-life incident of 1800, when Napoleon led his troops across the mountains to attack Austrian forces in Italy.
