Michael Caine in ‘Alfie’

Michael Caine shows the heavy-lidded eyes that made him a star in this production still from the 1966 film Alfie. Caine had earlier starred in the spy thriller The Ipcress File as an offbeat secret agent, but Alfie was his breakthrough as a romantic leading man. Or rather, as a romantic cad, Alfie being a super-duper womanizer and devilish Don Juan. (Spoiler: He gets his comeuppance in the end.)
