Michael Caine wipes concrete off his hands
Actor Michael Caine wipes concrete off his hands after putting his handprints into the pavement at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California. The date was July 11, 2008. The theater has, for decades, invited movie stars and other celebrities to leave their hand and footprints in the courtyard in front of the theater. The tradition started in 1927, when silent film stars Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks left their prints. Now the theater has it down to a science, with an adjuvant standing by with a fresh towel. Michael Caine was born in 1933, so he turned 75 the year this photo was taken.
