Nicolas Copernicus

A portrait of the Polish mathemetician and astronomer Nicolas Copernicus.  The artist and date of the portrait are unknown.  Copernicus lived from 1473 to 1543, and published his great work,  De revolutionibus orbium coelestium, the year of his death.
