A mug shot of Patty Hearst taken by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office after her arrest on September 19, 1975. Hearst, the granddaughter of newspaper baron William Randolph Hearst, was kidnapped in 1974 by the so-called Symbionese Liberation Army. After a year of captivity she joined the group and joined them in robbing a bank, which led to her arrest. She served two years in prison before having her sentence commuted by President Jimmy Carter.
