Facts about Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chopra Biography
Priyanka Chopra was named Miss World in 2000 and became one of India’s most popular screen stars and highest paid performers.
Chopra made her film debut in 2003’s The Hero: Love Story of a Spy.
She added sizzle and glamor to a few features and then proved her star quality in the 2004 thriller Aitraaz, a box office hit.
By 2006 she was also an action star, but then made half a dozen movies that fared poorly at the box office. Some critics counted her out, but Chopra made a strong return in 2008’s Fashion and has been an international star ever since.
Her recording career began with a blaze in 2012, and her single “In My City” made it to the U.S. as music for televised football games. In 2013 and 2014 Chopra had short-lived hits on the dance charts.
Firmly established in India after dozens of movies, Chopra went from Bollywood to Hollywood with a role in the series Quantico (2015-18) and the feature films Baywatch (2017) and Isn’t It Romantic (2019).
Chopra married Nick Jonas (formerly of the pop group The Jonas Brothers) in 2018. She is active in international charity work and has written newspaper columns and the book, Unfinished: A Memoir (under the name Priyanka Chopra Jonas).
