Mr. Rourke and Tattoo from ‘Fantasy Island’

Actor Ricardo Montalban (seated, as Mr. Rourke) and Herve Villechaize (as Tattoo) are happy to pose in this PR photo from the old television show Fantasy Island. The show, which ran from 1978-84, posited an island somewhere near the coast of South America where guests could come to live out their deepest fantasies -- often with unexpected results, obviously. Mr. Rourke was the mysterious (and seemingly ageless) innkeeper and proprietor, while Tattoo was his aide-de-camp and all-purpose facilitator. Each show started with Tattoo ringing a large bell and shouting "De plane! De plane!" as the plane carrying the latest guests circled the island.
