This was at an afterparty held at the The Embassy of Italy in Washington, DC on April 30, 2011. Sarah Palin had run unsuccessfully for vice-president of the US three years earlier: she and John McCain were defeated by Barack Obama and Joe Biden in the elections of 2008.
