Sophia Lillis Biography

Sophia Lillis got her break on the big screen in the popular horror film It (2017), and then starred in the Netflix series I Am Not Okay With This (2020).

Lillis grew up in New York’s Crown Heights neighborhood and studied in the youth program at Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. She began appearing on screen before she was in her teens.

A standout in the young cast of It, Lillis worked steadily in high school, appearing in the TV series Sharp Objects (2018, as the young version of Amy Adams’s character) and the feature films Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase (2019), It Chapter Two (2019) and Uncle Frank (2020, starring Paul Bettany).

She also played the lead in the offbeat horror film Gretel & Hansel (2020).

Despite a solid fan base, I Am Not Okay With This was not renewed for a second season due to Covid-related issues.
