Facts about SpongeBob SquarePants
SpongeBob SquarePants Biography
SpongeBob SquarePants is the absorbent, yellow and porous star of the cable television cartoon series SpongBob SquarePants. The show was created by Stephen Hillenburg and first aired in 1999. Voiced by Tom Kenny, SpongeBob lives in a pineapple under the sea, in an area called Bikini Bottom. His associates include: Patrick (Bill Fagerbakke), a dimwitted starfish and SpongeBob’s best friend; Squidward (Rodger Bumpass), a malcontent 6-legged octopus and SpongeBob’s co-worker and neighbor; Mr. Krabs (Clancy Brown), the owner of the Krusty Krab, where SpongeBob works as a frycook; and Sandy Cheeks (Carolyn Lawrence), a feisty country squirrel who manages to live underwater. The original run of the series was suspended after 60 episodes in 2002, in order to create The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (2004, with guest stars Alec Baldwin and Scarlett Johansson).
