Don’t ask Susan B. Anthony to smile
Susan B. Anthony is having none of your nonsense in this photo, taken between about 1890 and 1906 by Ms. L. Condon. To be fair, smiling wasn't really a "thing" in those early years of photography; a more formally serious face was the norm. Also, Susan B. Anthony was busy winning the vote for women, so she had a little more on her mind than cracking a big grin for posterity. She can pose how she wants, she's Susan B. Anthony!
