Taraji P. Henson shows off her back tattoo

Taraji P. Henson shows off the tattoo of a wing on on her lower back as she arrives for the 2009 BET Awards. This was at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California on June 28, 2009. A 2016 article in Redbook magazine said of Henson's tattoos: "On her lower back is a phoenix rising from the ashes, a symbol of the struggles she has overcome; a pair of pretty angel wings on her back shoulder is a grateful reminder of the freedom she has found." We're no experts, but the tattoo seen here looks more like an angel's wing than a phoenix rising, and we don't see anything on her shoulder. Still, we'll take Redbook's word for it. Perhaps the shoulder tattoo happened between 2009 and 2016, and maybe that is a phoenix on her lower back. All good!
