Taylor Schilling Biography
American actress Taylor Schilling is the blonde, wiry star of the TV series Orange Is the New Black.
She grew up in the neighborhoods of Boston and studied acting at New York’s Fordham College at Lincoln Center. She graduated in 2006 and began graduate school, but was soon cast in the feature film Dark Matter (2007, with Meryl Streep).
Schilling then landed the lead role as a nurse in the 2009 series Mercy, and followed that with a leading role in Atlas Shrugged: Part I (2011, based on the novel by Ayn Rand).
In Orange Is the New Black, Schilling plays Piper, a soft girl doing hard time in federal prison.
The series was released in July of 2013 on Netflix and became a hit. Her other film roles include The Lucky One (2012, opposite Zac Efron) and Argo (2012, directed by Ben Affleck).
