Wilt Chamberlain in a Harlem Globetrotters jersey

Young Wilt Chamberlain played with the Harlem Globetrotters for one season, 1958-59, while he waited to become eligible to play in the NBA after leaving the University of Kansas as a junior. Later in 1959, he made his NBA debut with the Philadelphia Warriors (who later moved to California and eventually became the Golden State Warriors). Wilt Chamberlain was born in August of 1936, so he was about 22 or 23 when this photo was taken. Dig those Chuck Taylor shoes from Converse, being worn back when they were just basketball shoes and not cultural signifiers.
