Our new Brett Kavanaugh biography is live.
Brett Kavanaugh is the U.S. Court of Appeals judge who has been nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court by President Donald Trump. If confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Kavanaugh will take the seat vacated in June by Justice Anthony Kennedy.
Although a Senate vote on Kavanaugh was expected this week, it has now been postponed by the revelation that a high school acquaintance, Christine Blasey Ford, says Kavanaugh assaulted her while drunk at a party. Both Kavanaugh and Ford are expected to testify before the Senate next week.
Judge Kavanaugh turned 53 in February. He attended Georgetown Prep School in Bethesda, Maryland, then earned both undergraduate (in 1987) and law (in 1990) degrees from Yale.
