As the candidates battle in New Hampshire, Dixville Notch battles its own rival.
(January 8th update: 17 votes were cast in Dixville Notch at midnight. Democratic tallies were Barack Obama (7 votes), John Edwards (2) and Bill Richardson (1). On the Republican side: John McCain (4 votes), Mitt Romney (2) and Rudy Giuliani (1). All other candidates got zero votes.
Dixville Notch is not generally regarded as representative of the entire state. Reuters notes that the 17 voters included 3 Republicans, 2 Democrats, and 12 Independents.)
