Aviator Steve Fossett remains missing in Nevada. It’s now been one month since he disappeared after leaving on a three hour tour from an airstrip near Reno.
Searchers last week checked radar trails from his plane, with no success. (Some people are getting cranky about the amount of resources devoted to the search.) Authorities have been reduced to hoping that a hunter might find Fossett this week as deer season opens.
Of course, few people hold out any hope that Fossett is still alive. If he were to walk out of the Nevada desert now, it would be one of the great miracle stories of the 21st century, even with 93 years still to go.
Steve, where are you?
