Millionaire adventurer Steve Fossett remains missing in the Nevada desert this morning. His small plane disappeared on Monday, apparently while he was scouting locations by air for a run at the land speed record.
Fossett is known for his many rugged firsts and records, including becoming the first man to circle the globe in a balloon solo, and the just-a-little-bit-complicated first solo nonstop airplane flight around the world without refueling.
