Al Jazeera is live-blogging the battle for Libya. So is The Guardian.
What changed in the standoff between Gaddafi and the rebels? Maybe it was new tactics. Maybe the weapons from Qatar and France finally kicked in. Either way, don’t count on a happy ending, says the CFR:
“Instability and faulty rebuilding efforts pose problems for post-Qaddafi Libya, many experts believe. Upheaval in Libya could lead to a humanitarian disaster, the emergence of a new authoritarian ruler, or even the country’s dissolution.”
On the other hand, Scotsmen are chuckling grimly.
