Rough week for stars of the 1960s. First it was Dick Martin and Sydney Pollack; now Harvey Korman has died at age 81.
The LA Times, quoting Korman’s daughter, says the actor died of “complications from an abdominal aortic aneurysm that ruptured four months ago.”
Korman was a comedy co-star on The Carol Burnett Show from 1967-77, and is also fondly remembered for his comedy roles in the films of Mel Brooks, especially the 1974 western send-up Blazing Saddles.
For those who love the Carol Burnett Show they can come to Book Soup at 4 pm on July 16th.Wesley Hyatt and I are going to be doing a meet and greet about his book about the Carol Burnet Show. You can also go to Stu Shostak;s site to listen to tribute shows to The Burnett Show and my father in the archive section as well as go to Ed Robertsons site TV Confidential to listen to the first part of my tribute to my dad.The second part will be on Ed’s site from June 29-July 4th.
