No, it’s not his birthday. No, it’s not the anniversary of his death. Who2 doesn’t even have a profile of famous Old West lawman Virgil Earp (but we have profiles of Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday).
And today we have a photo of Virgil’s grave (Earp died in 1905). Virgil Earp is buried at the River View Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. This photo was taken yesterday. As you can see, Earp still has devoted fans; his grave is often decorated with flags and (fake) flowers, and, yesterday, a pebble.
His tombstone reads: “God will take care of me.”
