Via this Seattle Post Intelligencer blog post about a collection of Hugh Hefner letters and cartoons from the 1940s.
Before Hugh Hefner founded Playboy magazine, that is.
The collection comes from a high school chum of his from Chicago, Jane Sellers. The letters reveal Hefner as an efficient doodler of School Daze, what he called his comics about his classmates at Chicago’s Steinmetz High School.
