President Barack Obama is in Cuba for a goodwill visit. This was shot on Sunday night, March 20, as he had dinner with his (unseen) wife Michelle Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia.
The dinner was at a palodar, or private restaurant, in a Havana home. As the Havana Times notes, “The restaurant specializes in Cuban food with Spanish elements and caters mainly to tourists and foreign visitors as the prices are too high for most locals.” The Obamas have been focusing on entrepreneurial small businesses during their brief visit to Cuba.
Bonus nice photo: After dinner, Obama shared a laugh with the chef as his daughter, Malia Obama, interpreted in Spanish. Yup, that’s right: his daughter is interpreting for him. Pretty cool.
