How do you get your name engraved on your Oscar? Turns out you just go to the Governors Ball and wait in line, as this Variety video shows:

They even give you a little pamphlet about how to care for it! Pretty cool, really.
They can’t engrave the Oscars before the ceremony, of course, because then everyone who saw the statue would know who won. This is almost as fast.
Here’s Leonardo DiCaprio a little later, carrying the now-engraved Oscar as he enters the famous Vanity Fair afterparty.
In close-up you can see that it reads:
ACADEMY AWARD
TO
LEONARDO DICAPRIO
BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE
“THE REVENANT”
2015
Maybe it’s me, but it looks like the first “I” in DiCaprio is even a little shorter than the rest, to emphasize that the “C” is capitalized. Nice touch!
