Here are two new profiles just requested by our friends at Ask.com: songwriter Kara DioGuardi and teen actress Demi Lovato.
If you haven’t heard of them yet, you will soon. DioGuardi (left) is the newest judge on TV’s American Idol. She’s already a star inside the music business; she wrote “Spinning Around” for Kylie Minogue in 2000, and since has worked with Christina Aguilera and Faith Hill, among many others. Her Idol gig starts right away, but the new shows won’t air until January 2009.
Ms. Lovato (below right) is Disney’s latest manufactured star. (And we say that with the greatest fondness for Disney’s brutally efficient star-making capacity.) She was given the lead in this summer’s Disney Channel movie Camp Rock, and now she’s on a live tour with Disney stars The Jonas Brothers (her co-stars in Camp Rock, coincidentally).
This fall she’ll star in a new Disney Channel series, Welcome to Mollywood. (According to TV Guide, Lovato plays “a 15-year-old who is picked through a nationwide casting call to star in a teen series.” Hmmm.) And then in January, she’ll be seen yet again in a Disney movie, Princess Protection Program.
And she has a new recording contract with Hollywood Records… a Disney company.
Well, godblessher anyway. Good luck to you both making your way in the celebrity whirl, Ms. Lovato and Ms. DioGuardi!
