205th Street in Queens was renamed “Run DMC JMJ Way” yesterday. The street’s in Hollis, the African-American neighborhood where Run-DMC got its start.
It’s “the first street in the country to be named after a hip-hop group,” according to our friends at WENN. (Photo credit!)
JMJ is for Jam Master Jay (Jason William Mizell), the group member killed outside a Queens recording studio in 2002.
