Christian evangelist and television star Oral Roberts has died at the age of 91.
According to this report, he was admitted to the hospital over the weekend, after taking a fall at his home.
Oral Roberts was one of the first big-name TV evangelists. He began with revival meetings in big tents in the 1940s, and in the mid-1950s he began broadcasting on television. He also founded Oral Roberts University in the 1960s in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
That’s where he was in 1980 when he saw a 900-foot tall Jesus, who encouraged Roberts to keep raising funds for more construction.
