Film editor Sally Menke was found dead early this morning, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Although no cause of death is known, Menke had been hiking in yesterday’s extreme heat. She was 56 years old.
Sally Menke was best known for her close working relationship with filmmaker Quentin Tarantino. She was nominated last year for an Oscar for her work on Inglorious Basterds, and she was nominated back in 1995 for her work on Pulp Fiction.
She also worked on Reservoir Dogs, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill and Tarantion’s Grindhouse movie, Death Proof. Her other credits include David Lynch‘s Mulholland Falls (1996) and the 2000 film version of Cormac McCarthy‘s novel All the Pretty Horses.
