Rafael Nadal has won Wimbledon 2010 in straight sets over Tomas Berdych, 6-3, 7-5, 6-4.
Yesterday it was Serena Williams winning in straight sets on the distaff side. Today, Nadal. Wimbledon’s official report is all agog:
There is a wind in southern Europe called the sirocco, known in
Berdych’s Czech Republic as the jugo. It is a Mediterranean wind that
can reach hurricane speeds. Rafael Nadal, the man from Majorca, had no
need to conjure up storm force tennis today, but still blew away the
12th seed 6-3 7-5 6-4.
A little over the top, but oh, well. Congratulations, Mr. Nadal!
