Actor Leonard Nimoy told an excited crowd at Comic-Con yesterday that he will return as the beloved Vulcan Mr. Spock in another Star Trek movie.
Now 76 (!) years old, Nimoy will be part of a two-Spock tag team in a Star Trek film to be directed by J.J. Abrams, creator of the hit TV shows Lost and Alias. The younger Spock will be played by Heroes actor Zachary Quinto. Speculation is that Nimoy’s old Spock will be part of some kind of wraparound story; E! Online calls it “a meaty cameo.”
The Los Angeles Times says Nimoy told the Comic-Con crowd: “People keep asking me why I’m doing this movie. The answer is, well, it was logical.”
