Facts about Ivanka Trump
Ivanka Trump Biography
Ivanka Trump is the daughter of former President Donald Trump and his first wife, Ivana.
A tall and elegant blonde, Ivanka Trump began modeling as a teen, her career helped along by the Trump name and by her mother’s own background as a model. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School with a bachelor’s degree in economics in 2004; the next year she joined the Trump Organization and eventually became executive vice president of development and acquisitions. She worked there alongside her brothers Donald Trump, Jr. and Eric Trump.
Ivanka Trump’s appearances on her father’s show The Apprentice began in 2006 and pushed her to a new prominence. She launched her own line of jewelry, the Ivanka Trump Collection. She also inherited, as The New York Times put it, “her father’s prodigious flair for self-promotion,” and in 2007 Harper’s Bazaar magazine called her “The New Queen of Diamonds.”
As Donald Trump began his presidential campaign in 2016, Ivanka spoke often on his behalf and served as a confidante to her father; Politico called her “his most influential adviser, his de facto first lady in waiting and his character foil.” Her husband, Jared Kushner, also became a close advisor to her father. Donald Trump was elected president in 2016 and took office on January 20, 2017; Ivanka and Kushner moved their family to Washington, D.C., and Kushner took an official role as a White House counselor. The Trump family left the White House after Donald Trump was defeated by Joe Biden in the elections of 2020.
Ivanka Trump is the author of the 2009 book The Trump Card: Playing to Win in Work and Life.
